SUMMER MOUNTAIN JOURNEY

Rarely do we get a chance to combine an awesome backcountry adventure with the opportunity to give back to the environment.  Join us for a sojourn on the flanks of               Mt. Adams, a 12,276-foot snowcapped mountain, for an eight-day Cascades wilderness adventure.  On your journey, you’ll explore wild lands with fellow teen travelers, see          natural treasures you’ll never forget, learn wilderness living skills and dive into some             serious summer fun.

You’ll experience plenty of adventure while hiking up a mountainside to a timberline basecamp, waking up to the brilliance of alpine wildflowers, jumping into a turquoise blue glacier-fed pool, rafting down a whitewater river, descending into the darkness of a lava tube and kayaking along the shores of a crystalline lake.

Throughout the journey, you’ll practice “Leave No Trace” camping and wilderness living skills.  Along the way you’ll join up with an AmeriCorps environmental restoration team and pitch in to recover impacted wilderness areas or improve a section of the Pacific Crest Trail. You’ll discover the rich rewards of service by helping preserve and protect the environment.
